Hello beautiful people my name is Ayanna Monet. I am an artist from South Florida, but my background is Trinidad and Barbados. Art Is something that came natural to me. As a child around the age of three, I used art as an outlet. I was a very shy child and art was a way for me to express myself. I wasn’t too good at speaking which frustrated me, so art became my voice. For a long period of time I stopped painting. Discouragement can really take a toll on you if your mind isn’t secured, because of this I put more focus on school to pursue accounting which eventually turned into marketing. But within my early years in college I pursed art again. The funny thing is that art never truly let me go, I would notice many signs from GOD that influenced me to paint again, even though I would fight it at times the push was strong and now I know that this path is destined for me. In my adolescence years I chose to walk my own path which in return led to a lot of crazy mistakes, but those mistakes taught me lessons. I learned to take my hard times and built up emotions and put it into my art. It was in a way that when you look at my art you can actually feel my emotions and can understand exactly how I was feeling. My recent work is all about empowerment and I hope that others can look at my art, feel the emotions, and be empowered.
